Getting ready among the olive trees
The day began unhurried: the dress hanging from an olive tree, Natasha in her robe at the door beneath the reed pergola, the bridesmaids laughing their way down the stairs. Then the lace, the long veil spread across the lawn and the walk down the stone staircase, between dry-stone walls and prickly pears.
"I do" in the olive grove
The ceremony took place in the shade of ancient olive trees, with wooden chairs lined along the path and an arch of white flowers at the end. Vows read through laughter, hands held tight, and a kiss greeted by the applause of friends and family who had travelled from afar.
Cypresses, fields and sunset light
Before dinner we took some time just for the two of them: the cypress-lined avenue, the dry-stone walls between the fields, the masseria's great stone staircase in the golden evening light.
Dinner under the stars and a party in the cave
The long table on the terrace, string lights hanging between the olive trees, the cake cut in the garden among the sparklers. And to finish, the party in the masseria's cave, dancing until late into the night.
