Diego & Hanan — a wedding at Masseria Martuccio
The beautiful Hanan and Diego chose Puglia to celebrate their union. A perfect blend of traditions, cultures, colors, and scents coming together... creating another unique story we had the absolute pleasure of telling.
Two traditions, one day
The morning already carried the flavour of both cultures: white shoes beside the golden tray of Moroccan tradition, the crown waiting for the evening, Hanan and her mother laughing together before the lace veil went on.
"I do" among columns and pines
The ceremony took place in the garden of Masseria Martuccio, along an avenue of stone columns in the shade of pine trees. Hanan arrived on her father's arm, with the flower girls beside her; then came the vows, the rings, a kiss on the forehead and the walk out as husband and wife amid applause.
Fields, vineyards and afternoon light
For the portraits we headed into the countryside around Mesagne: tall grass, wheat fields and vineyards in the warm afternoon light.
Kaftan, henna and amaria
In the evening Hanan wore her traditional kaftan, with the crown and jewellery, accompanied by the negafa. The henna ritual, mint tea, and then the most awaited moment: the couple lifted high on the amaria, amid songs and applause.
A party in the courtyard
The dancing carried on in the masseria's courtyard, under string lights and stone arches, with the band and live vocals, the cake cut among the illuminated columns and everyone on the dance floor until late into the night.
